Whether you’re seeking a tasty artisan pizza, a New York-style version, or simply a quick late-night bite, here are some suggestions from Bountiful Mazda for the best pizza places around Bountiful.

Ti Amo Wood Fired Pizza

Ti Amo Wood Fired Pizza prides itself on being an authentic Italian neighborhood pizzeria, and this may be as Italian as a pizza from Utah can get. The founders of the pizzeria, Mauro and Gloria Bonfanti, started Ti Amo Wood Fired Pizza with the desire to share Italian culture and heritage through food. Their story, found on the back of the menu, adds a sense of homey ambiance and charm to the restaurant.

The pizzeria bakes its delicious artisan pizzas in a wood-fired brick oven. The restaurant has a window into the kitchen, where you can see the staff toss the pizza in the air before adding toppings and placing it into the oven. Ti amo is Italian for “I love you,” and this wonderful pizzeria embodies the love of Italian culture.

If you’re looking for a recommendation, try the Capricciosa pizza, which comes loaded with mozzarella, prosciutto cotto (cooked ham), mushrooms, artichoke hearts, fire-roasted bell peppers, and olives. The bruschetta, stromboli, and gelato are also wonderful dishes.

The restaurant offers cooking classes if you have a desire to learn more about Italian cooking. You can find Ti Amo Wood Fired Pizza at 515 W. 2600 South in Bountiful.

The Pie Pizzeria

The Pie Pizzeria has been serving the Salt Lake City area hot, delicious pizza loaded with cheese and garlic since 1980. The hand-tossed pizzas are made fresh to order, not prepared in advance, and even the sauces and dressings are made in-house. The Pie features a varying specialty pie, such as The French Quarter Pie, which has a braided parmesan crust and is topped with basil pesto, shrimp, Cajun sausage, spiced tomatoes, mozzarella, and feta. The pizzeria features several menu options with vegan, gluten-free, and spicy dough choices. The pull-a-part pan breadsticks are a delicious addition or alternative to pizza.

While The Pie now has six locations in Utah, The Pie Underground is at 1320 E. 200 South, Salt Lake City, below the University Pharmacy. The basement location and graffiti-covered brick walls make this pizzeria unique. Don’t forget to sign your name on the wall when you visit The Pie’s underground restaurant.

From Scratch

The restaurant From Scratch derives its name from the fact they make everything, including their bread, their sauces and jams, and their pizzas, from scratch. The restaurant offers mouth-watering wood-fired pizza and wood fire oven-baked bread. While From Scratch isn’t primarily a pizzeria, the artisanal pizza is worth the trip. With a selection of seven different pizza options on the menu, From Scratch has something to satisfy every craving. For a unique entree, try the mushroom pizza which comes topped with cremini musthrooms, onions, goat cheese, arugula, and a balsamic reduction.

If you want something other than pizza, try the chicken caprese, the tri-tip steak, or the grilled salmon. Other local favorites include the vegan bowl which contains a quinoa blend topped with sauteed squash, tomato, onions, peppers, and mushrooms, and the house-made fresh pasta entrees. The restaurant has artisanal burgers and sandwiches if you’re looking for something simple but filling. You can visit From Scratch at 62 E. Gallivan Ave. in Salt Lake City.

Este Pizzeria

When you live in Bountiful but you’re craving New York-style pizza, Este Pizzeria may be your best first choice without having to jump on a plane. The huge pieces are thin and served New York-style, folded in half when you eat them. The pizzeria makes classic pizza with simple but delicious dough and sauces. With two convenient locations in Salt Lake City you can find Este Pizzeria at either 156 E. 200 South or 2148 S. 900 East.

Pie Hole

While Pie Hole may not be the fanciest pizza parlor on the list, the one thing it does have is a large variety of pizza by the slice. So if you’re looking for a quick bite or you’re in the mood for a bit of variety and want a couple of different slices, this is when Pie Hole shines. The pizza is fast and inexpensive at just a few dollars a slice, perfect for those late-night pizza cravings.

Pie Hole offers standard selections like cheese, pepperoni, and vegan pizzas, as well as some delicious specialty choices like potato bacon pizza or roasted red pepper and basil pizza. The best part? Pie Hole is open until 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Pie Hole is located at 344 S. State St. in Salt Lake City.

Nuch’s Pizzeria

If you’re looking for a neighborhood gourmet pizza, Nuch’s Pizzeria is the place. Nuch’s serves New York-style pizza, but it also makes hand-made pasta and homemade ricotta. The thin-crust brick-oven pizza is much tastier than the average pizza-joint pizza. Start your meal with an appetizer like bubble bread or the fresh stuffed zucchini or mushrooms.

For something different, try the pesto pizza or the New Haven, with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, double smoked bacon, asparagus, and mozzarella cheese. Another local favorite is the Ultimate White, which has ricotta, garlic, mozzarella, prosciutto, and fresh arugula. The calzones are a wonderful, filling alternative to the pizza.

You can find Nuch’s Pizzeria at 2819 S. 2300 East in Millcreek, about twenty minutes south of Bountiful. Call ahead for reservations at this cozy pizzeria, since it has a rather small seating capacity.
