What’s New for 2024?
There aren’t many significant changes to the 2024 Mazda CX-50. The main upgrades include a few tweaks to the suspension with new dampers and the electric power-steering system to enhance road handling. The wireless smartphone charging pad and 12-speaker Bose stereo are now standard from the midlevel Premium trim and up. The 2.5 S Select
The base trim comes with a four-cylinder engine and Sport and Off-Road modes. It boasts a black leatherette interior with gray features, dual exhaust outlets with a bright finish, rear privacy glass, a body-colored rear roof spoiler, and 17-inch wheels with all-season tires. Technology includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen, an eight-speaker audio system, and wireless connectivity. A six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat and four-way manually adjustable front passenger’s seat are standard. The 2.5 S Preferred
The Preferred trim is a step above the Select with a few extra features. Along with the same features you’d find in the 2.5 S Select, this trim also adds a windshield wiper de-icer, dual heated side mirrors, and a rear power liftgate with programmable height adjustment. It also boasts heated front seats with three-level adjustment.
The 2.5 S Premium
The Premium trim offers a big step up. It has the same standard four-cylinder engine but adds a roof-mounted shark fin antenna, dual rear USB charging ports, SiriusXM satellite radio, a wireless phone charger, and a power-sliding panoramic moonroof.
The 2.5 S Premium Plus
The Premium Plus trim features an upgraded black leather interior with brown accents and 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels with all-season tires. It also boasts a slightly higher 8.6-inch ground clearance and adds a two-position memory feature to the eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The front passenger seat becomes six-way power-adjustable and has ventilation. In addition to the technology in previous trims, it adds a windshield-projected active driving display.
The 2.5 Turbo
The Turbo is the first trim to offer the upgraded turbo engine and add a Towing mode. You can choose the black leather interior with brown accents the S Premium has or a terracotta leather interior. In addition to the luxuries of previous trims, it boasts paddle shifters and more exterior color choices.
The 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition
The Turbo Meridian Edition also has an upgraded turbo engine and boasts a premium terracotta leather interior. Trim-specific features include the Meridian Hood graphics and side rocker garnish. It also has all-terrain tires, a 10.25-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker audio system, 8.5 inches of ground clearance, paddle shifters, and a power-sliding glass panoramic moonroof.
The 2.5 Turbo Premium
The Turbo Premium, complete with the turbo engine, allows you to choose between a black or terracotta leather interior. It adds a heated steering wheel, automatic power-folding side mirrors with a two-position memory function, a windshield-projected active driving display, and different exterior colors to choose from.
The 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus
The Turbo Premium Plus is the highest trim with a turbo engine. It has the same leather interior options as the previous trim but adds an auto-dimming driver’s side mirror. Beyond what you find in the Premium, it has Mazda navigation and traffic sign recognition systems.
