With the rear seats folded, you’ll get up to 59.3 cubic feet of cargo space. A retractable cargo cover and roof rails with crossbars are optional. You can also choose a rear bumper guard to prevent scratches while you load and unload the vehicle.
Navigation and a head-up display are optional, and a Wi-Fi hotspot is available with a subscription. It can automatically call for emergency help after an accident or summon roadside assistance. You’ll get a complimentary, three-year subscription to remote start and status reports through the MyMazda App. The 2.5 S Preferred and higher trim levels have a Homelink universal garage door opener, leather seats, power lumbar support with memory settings for the driver’s seat, and a power moonroof with an interior sunshade. The auto-dimming rearview mirror is frameless, and it adjusts automatically to lower glare from headlights behind you.
The 2.5 S Premium and higher trims come with paddle shifters for the steering wheel and a 7-inch driver information display. The 2.5 S Carbon Edition and higher trim levels have a Bose 10-speaker audio system and SiriusXM satellite radio. With the CX-5 2.5 Turbo Signature trim, you’ll get a genuine, layered wood trim and nappa leather-trimmed seats.
Engine and Performance
The 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine has cylinder deactivation to conserve energy while keeping power high when needed. It generates 187 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque, and the turbocharged version produces 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. With premium, 93-octane fuel, it gets 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.
Both engines can tow up to 2,000 pounds, and the independent suspension provides a smooth ride. All-wheel drive is standard. This Mazda crossover gets a fuel rating of 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The six-speed automatic transmission has manual and sport modes, and the 2.5 S Premium and higher trims come with an off-road mode. These trim levels also have Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) to customize your driving modes.
Safety Features
The 2024 CX-5 comes with an extensive range of features to keep you and your passengers safe.
