Gardening is a hobby many people enjoy, finding that it provides relaxation as well as getting you outside and exercising. It helps you connect with the land you live on, and gives you the satisfaction of seeing something you've tended grown into a healthy plant, as well as providing fresh vegetables, beautiful flowers, or a tidy yard. Whether you want to grow a vegetable garden, plant some fruit trees, or just landscape your yard, every gardener loves a good garden center, and there are plenty of garden centers and nurseries in the Salt Lake City area.
42nd Street Greenhouse

42nd Street Greenhouse is located in the south of Salt Lake City at 4221 S. 700 East, and it's open every day except Sunday. It doesn't have a sign, so look for the flower cart saying “greenhouse in back.” It has been open since 1982 and offers a large range of vegetables for your garden, including over 90 varieties of heirloom and hybrid tomatoes like green zebra and beefsteak. Find locally grown roses and flowers to brighten up your yard and hang baskets for your porch. Rose varieties include the popular David Austin cultivars as well as climbers.
