2.5 S

The 2.5 S trim is the base model of the Mazda CX-5. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and has a SKYACTIV-G 2.5 DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It has a 10.25-inch full-color display and four-speaker audio system with the Mazda Connect Infotainment System and Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto integrations. Also standard are automatic on-and-off LED headlights, steering-wheel-mounted controls, and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. The 2.5 S is available in four exterior colors and has cloth interior detailing.

2.5 S Select

The 2.5 S Select has many of the same features as the 2.5 S, including the same engine, safety features, LED automatic headlights, and wheels. Unlike the base model, the Select introduces additional features including rear privacy glass, the Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry and Start System, and three new exterior color options. Its interior includes heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control with a pollen filter, rear AC vents, and leatherette seats with Lux Suede inserts. The trim has an upgraded six-speaker audio system, backseat USB charging ports, and a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support.

2.5 S Preferred

The next trim in the CX-5 fleet is the 2.5 S Preferred model. Unlike the two lower trims, the S Preferred comes standard with a programmable rear power liftgate rather than the standard manual option. While most of this trim's exterior design shares similarities with the 2.5 S and 2.5 S Select, it also includes a power sliding-glass moonroof with an interior sunshade. The interior of the vehicle has leather-trimmed seats and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat capable of remembering two seat positions and a six-way power-adjustable front passenger's seat. 

2.5 S Carbon Edition

The 2.5 S Carbon Edition is a special edition of the Mazda CX-5 created with exclusive details and finishes. Unlike the other trims in the CX-5 lineup, the Carbon Edition is only available in one color: polymetal gray metallic. Some of the Carbon Edition's other unique features include black power side mirrors with LED turn signals, a black grille, a black signature wing, and 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with a black metallic finish. It also features black interior doors and accents,  plus red and black leather seating and surfaces. 

2.5 S Premium

The 2.5 S Premium trim takes a more luxurious turn within the CX-5 fleet. While its mechanisms are primarily the same as lower trim levels, the S Premium comes standard with Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) complete with sport and off-road modes. This model's exterior also features an adaptive front lighting system, LED daytime running lights, LED combination taillights, heated power side mirrors, and 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. It also has distinct interior features, including a Bose 10-speaker audio system, a SiriusXM three-month trial, a 7-inch LCD display, black and parchment leather interior colors, and paddle shifters. 

2.5 S Premium Plus

The 2.5 S Premium Plus trim of the CX-5 features many of the same amenities as the Premium trim, with a few upgrades to the exterior and interior of the vehicle. The exterior includes the addition of a windshield wiper de-icer and automatic power-folding side mirrors. The car's interior features the addition of heated rear seats with three adjustment levels, ventilated front seats, a windshield-projected active driving display, and a heated steering wheel for added comfort on cold days. This model also has slightly larger interior dimensions, providing additional room for passengers and cargo.

2.5 Turbo

Unlike all the S-level trims of the CX-5, the 2.5 Turbo edition includes a distinct SKYACTIV-G 2.5 with Dynamic Pressure Turbo engine with 227 horsepower when paired with 87 octane premium unleaded fuel and 310 lb-ft of torque. With 93 octane premium unleaded fuel, the Turbo can reach up to 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. The only interior color available on the 2.5 Turbo is black leather. It also has many distinct exterior features, including a gloss finish on its front grille, wheel arches, side rocker molding, lower bumper trim, and signature wing.

2.5 Turbo Signature

The final trim in the Mazda CX-5 lineup is the 2.5 Turbo Signature model. While the Turbo model comes standard with primarily black exterior finishes, the top-level Turbo Signature features a bright silver-finished front grille and body-colored lower bumper trim, side rocker molding, and wheel arches. Some interior upgrades from the standard Turbo trim include Caturra Brown Nappa leather-trimmed seats, genuine layered wood trim, a black cloth headliner, and Mazda Navigation System. You also get a three-year Sirius XM Traffic and Travel Link subscription, which provides up-to-date information on local traffic, gas prices, parking availability, and more.
